Stevenson School: Echami Learning Centre in Kakuma, Kenya

The Stevenson-Echami Project

We began a partnership between Stevenson and Echami Schools because the Alex family moved to Canada from Africa. The children in the family attended Echami School in Kakuma Town, Kenya. Now, they attend Stevenson School in the City of Winnipeg, Canada.

We wish for this project to bring awareness to all involved of how people around the world live differently. We also wish to raise funds for Echami School because "education is very important in the fight against poverty and development. It is also a life long investment in terms of empowering individuals and communities, i.e. economically and socially." - David K. Naumo, Director, Echami Learning Centre
